2009 Retreat week-ends for 18 - 35's.
This year the Canossian Daughters of Charity have again offered retreat week-ends for young adults with the general theme “Encountering God…”.
In the photo are Sr. Rosa and Vony, one of the 21 participants who attended both the first and second week-ends. By this time of the Sunday afternoon the others had gone home to catch up on study and rest!

Young Sisters Seminar
The September break was a good opportunity for some of the younger sisters to have a four-day seminar on “Prayer-styles and discernment”. Brother Ian Cribb S.J., presented the topic with some powerful power-point presentations. Some time was taken out for a bit of a laugh, some songs and some out-door activities!

“Lifewalks”, the theme of this years retreats for young adults has proven an attractive and meaningful theme.
WYD Cross and Icon
With the coming of the WYD Cross and Icon to Brisbane came the blessing of the long-awaited rain! So no complaints as we processed through the streets of Brisbane, drenched but happy to be part of an event that begins the journey towards WYD08 and the renewal of faith for many of our youth.
WYD Cross towards the summit
Again the blessing of rain! And a 6am start at the base of Mt. Cootha for an early morning prayer service while carrying the WYD Cross towards the summit! A very moving experience for those of us who participated.
Sr. Thao Nguyen renewed her vows
Sr. Thao Nguyen renewed her vows in the chapel of her Community at Spring Hill! A joyous celebration, and a testimony to the fact that God continues to call ….. and we are called to respond!
